Wallpaper Care

Wallpaper Care & Cleaning Tips (Non-woven)

Keep your non-woven wallpaper looking beautiful for years with this simple, proven care routine. These tips apply to our FSC-certified, paste-the-wall wallpapers used in family homes and kids’ rooms.

Quick start

  • Dust weekly with a dry microfibre cloth or soft brush.
  • Wipe light marks with a slightly damp cloth and clean water.
  • Blot, don’t rub fresh spills. Test mild soap first.

Daily & weekly care

A gentle routine prevents build-up and keeps colours fresh.

  • Dry dust from top to bottom to catch loose particles.
  • For fingerprints or everyday smudges: damp cloth → light pressure → short, overlapping strokes.
  • Immediately dry the area with a second soft cloth.

Do: Rotate wall art occasionally to allow even light exposure.

Spot cleaning (step-by-step)

  1. Identify the mark (oil-based, water-based, pencil, crayon).
  2. Test in a discreet corner with water first.
  3. Clean with a damp cloth; add a drop of mild, pH-neutral soap if needed.
  4. Blot rather than scrub.
  5. Rinse & dry with clean water and a dry cloth.

Avoid solvents, bleach, abrasive pads and steam cleaners. These can dull or damage the surface.

Mini stain guide

Mark What to try first If it persists
Pencil/graphite White vinyl eraser (very light pressure) Damp cloth; tiny drop mild soap
Fingerprints Damp microfibre cloth Mild soap test; rinse and dry
Water rings Let dry fully, then lightly wipe Repeat gently; avoid over-wetting
Crayon (wax) Chill with ice pack in a bag, lift residue with plastic card Soft cloth with mild soap; rinse
Food splashes Blot immediately Damp cloth + mild soap; rinse and dry

Humidity & ventilation

  • Suitable for normal household humidity. Ventilate during/after showers or cooking.
  • Wipe condensation from seams and edges. Avoid direct, repeated water contact.

Sunlight & colour longevity

  • Designed for everyday light exposure; soften strong direct sun with blinds or curtains.
  • Rotate frames or décor occasionally for even fade.

High-traffic & kids’ rooms

  • Wipe-clean for everyday marks; keep crayons/markers away from feature walls.
  • Consider a wipeable panel near desks and craft areas.

Minor repairs & removal

  • Edge lift: apply a thin layer of non-woven adhesive under the seam and smooth; wipe excess paste.
  • Small dents: often disguise with gentle smoothing; avoid over-working.
  • Removal: on primed walls, non-woven typically strips dry in large sheets—lift a corner and pull at a shallow angle.

Material compatibility (quick checklist)

  • ✔️ Clean water, soft cloths, pH-neutral mild soap (spot tests only).
  • ✔️ Microfibre duster or soft brush attachment.
  • ❌ Solvents, bleach, abrasive pads, steam cleaning, high-pressure water.
  • ❌ Heavy scrubbing or vigorous rubbing.
