Wallpaper Installation (Non-woven, Paste-the-Wall)
Our wallpaper is printed on high-quality non-woven material and installs easily using the paste-the-wall method. Below is a simple, step-by-step guide.
What you need
- Ready-mixed wallpaper paste (for non-woven wallpaper)
- Roller & tray
- Sharp knife / cutter
- Spirit level or plumb line
- Soft wallpaper brush or plastic smoother
- Clean cloth / sponge
Before you start
- Ensure the wall is smooth, dry and clean.
- Fill holes and sand any uneven areas.
- Remove residue, old glue or marks.
- Paint the wall in one even, light colour (preferably white).
- Allow paint to dry completely before installation.
Note: An uneven or mixed-tone background (dark/light patches) can show through the wallpaper and cause colour shifts. This is not a production issue but a wall preparation issue.
Applying the wallpaper
- Mark a straight vertical line using a level (your reference line).
- Apply paste directly onto the wall—one panel width at a time.
- Offer the first panel dry and align to the plumb line.
- Smooth gently from the centre outwards with a brush/smoother.
- Butt the next panel tightly against the first (no overlap).
- Continue until all panels are applied, matching the pattern where needed.
- Trim excess at ceiling and skirting with a sharp blade.
Important
- Do not stretch the wallpaper.
- Avoid heavy rubbing.
- Remove paste spills immediately with a damp, clean cloth.
- Colours may vary slightly between batches—order sufficient rolls in one order.
